The Alberta Fire Services Advisory Committee (FSAC) was established in June 2003 to represent the Alberta fire service and to begin developing a unifying framework that would allow the service to work more efficiently and effectively.

The Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs is an independent, non-profit organization with a voluntary membership. Founded in 1909, CAFC was incorporated in 1965 under the Canadian Corporations Act with its head office in Ottawa, Canada.
A twenty-three member Board of Directors from across Canada has general charge of the affairs of the Association with the support of a dedicated team of association management professionals located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
