An Area Structure Plan is a statutory plan that establishes the general planning framework for future subdivision and development of an area of undeveloped land.

Currently, the City of Medicine Hat, Planning Services is not undertaking any Area Structure Plans.  These plans are typically done by consultants through Land & Properties (with Planning Services input) and/or private developers and their consultants in which case Planning Services & the Technical Coordination Committee (TCC) reviews, comments and makes a recommendation to Municipal Planning Commission (MPC) on such plans.

It is anticipated that Land & Properties will be engaging consultants for a future Burnside ASP early in 2009.
