Inspections are required at certain stages of construction so that the Safety Codes Officers can verify compliance with the Alberta Building Code. Most construction requires a minimum of four building inspections, including:

1. Footings must be inspected prior to pouring.
2. Foundation/weeping tile
3. Framing (prior to insulating)
4. Final or occupancy (note: buildings cannot be occupied prior to the final inspection, and the occupancy approved)
