Parking Options

The City of Medicine Hat provides a number of parking options for visitors, shoppers and workers in the downtown area. On-street parking is free with a maximum time limit of two hours in one location. The off-street parking lots include parking for permit holders and free parking with limitations for the general public.

Business owners and workers in the downtown are encouraged to purchase pass holder permits to secure available parking spaces in designated areas. A map is included in this brochure to help locate a convenient parking option for everyone coming to the downtown. For the safety and consideration of everyone, parking is monitored and violators will be ticketed.

All City off-street parking lots have designated accessible parking stalls. You must have your special Accessibility Pass displayed properly to be able park in these stalls.

Why can I only park for two hours on the street?
The City wants to ensure that parking options are available for everyone visiting and working downtown. The on-street parking is intended for visitors and short-term stays in the downtown. Those requiring long-term parking solutions should use the available locations with permit parking for passholders.
