Now Hiring Fitness Leader
The City of Medicine Hat’s Parks & Recreation department believes in a healthy, active community where residents can exercise while socializing in a fun, energy-filled environment suitable for all ages. As part of this commitment, the Family Leisure Centre has expanded to become a hub of Recreation Services.
An exciting opportunity exists for an energetic individual who will be responsible for personal and group fitness training, instruction and education, as well as ensuring the safe use and cleanliness of fitness equipment.
As our ideal candidate, you are committed to a lifestyle of health and wellness, and will project a positive image of self and the organization. You are experienced in motivating and leading people through personal and group fitness programs. You enjoy working as part of a team and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, specifically with the ability to execute oral and written instructions. For this part-time position, shifts will vary and include evenings and weekends.
- Successful completion of Grade 12 or high school equivalency diploma
- Current Personal Trainer Certification, Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) AFLCA, Canfit Pro or related certificate
- Current CPR and Emergency First Aid Certificates
- One (1) year general experience in the fitness and wellness programming
