Working as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the General Manager of Finance you will be responsible for the leadership, mentoring, and setting the strategic direction to the Finance Department including the following teams: municipal and energy accounting, supply chain, assessment, systems, billing & meter reading, customer service & collections, and treasury, planning & analysis. In addition, you coordinate activities such as business planning and budgeting, with other City Departments and outside agencies, and provide complex financial and strategic support to the Commissioner of Corporate Services.
As the successful candidate, you bring strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse organization. You believe in developing and coaching staff to achieve desired results, and you take pride in the organization and its people. Your strategic planning and business acumen enables you to examine and re-engineer operations and business processes, formulate policy, and develop and implement new strategies and procedures. If you are dedicated to making a difference in the community we serve and take pride in the organization and its people, then this opportunity may be for you!
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, accounting, or finance;
- Professional accounting designation (CPA);
- Ten (10) years of related professional experience including five years of successful, progressive experience in a senior level financial management position.
