Now Hiring a Property Tax Assessor II
We are seeking a Property Tax Assessor II to be part of the team responsible for the inspection and valuation of all types of property including residential and non-residential within the city of Medicine Hat. If you are knowledgeable in assessment principles, current mass appraisal techniques and statistical analysis, have demonstrated the ability to use independent judgment to assess value, then this is the opportunity for you!
As the successful candidate you have the ability to work both in the field and in an office environment to collect, correlate and evaluate detailed data. You have knowledge of property survey systems, building construction methods and procedures, and relevant legislation relating to assessment. You enjoy working under pressure to meet deadlines and can adapt to shifting priorities. You have strong communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma in property assessment or related field.
- Four years previous assessment experience
- Accredited Municipal Assessor of Alberta or Accredited Appraiser with the Appraisal Institute of Canada or working on attaining such.
