Power Plant Operators – Summer Students
For over 100 years the City of Medicine Hat Power Plant has provided clean and reliable electricity to the citizens of Alberta’s sunniest city. The Power Plant boasts some of the most advanced power generation technologies available, comprised of natural gas Aero-derivative Gas turbines with Heat Recovery Steam Generators and condensing Steam turbines.
We are looking for someone who prioritizes safety, exercises good judgment and who works well on a team. As a member of the team, you are responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the power plant on a rotating 12-hour shift basis.
- Third or Fourth Class Power Engineer’s Certificate of Competency
- Minimum of one year related experience or a first year power engineering student
- Must possess a Grade 12 or high school equivalency diploma
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license
- This position has been identified as Safety Sensitive and requires the completion of a satisfactory pre-employment drug screen.
