Now Hiring Project Manager

Job DescriptionDo you enjoy taking a project from inception to completion? We are looking for a Project Manager who will be responsible for overall planning, direction, coordination, implementation and execution of various projects ranging from routine to moderately complex on behalf of the City of Medicine Hat!

As our ideal candidate, your sound program and project management skills coupled with strong organizational skills enable you to carry out projects from conception through to completion. You are accountable for the planning, design and construction of facilities projects by providing leadership, guidance, coaching and direction to City staff, consultants, contractors as well as project teams. You are knowledgeable in tender, contract and budget principles, and familiar with relevant legislation and building codes. Your well-developed professional judgment supports your projects’ success; and in addition, you are able to communicate and build effective relationships with coworkers, contractors, and the public alike.

You also bring the following technical qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a two (2) year Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or related field from a recognized post-secondary institution;
  • Five (5) years of project management/coordination experience in capital planning, design and construction;
  • Certificate or eligibility to obtain certificate as Project Management Professional (PMP);
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
