South Railway Construction in South Flats area progressing as scheduled

South Flats Project Update

Post Date:05/19/2017 10:15 AM
Medicine Hat -  The first stage of construction on the South Railway Street Upgrade Project in the South Flats area is underway and the work to date is progressing on schedule.

The sanitary sewer lining work has now been completed.  In addition, within Stage 1 two thirds of the water main replacement, sanitary sewer manhole replacement and installation of storm sewer manholes/catch basin leads has been completed.

Over the next few weeks, we will continue installation of the water main west of Factory Street, begin installation of street light conduit/concrete street light bases, commence work on concrete curb and gutter and start work on road structure and trail construction.

As construction moves westerly, the temporary traffic control measures will change accordingly.  Please obey all traffic signs/signals and drive safely around work crews.

The City of Medicine Hat would also like to thank everyone for your support and patience as we undertake this important project and remind everyone that access to local businesses will be maintained throughout the project.
