June is Parks & Recreation Month

Father’s Day Fishing and Fun at Echo Dale Regional Park

Post Date:06/16/2017 9:48 AM
Medicine Hat – In celebration of Parks & Recreation Month, the City of Medicine Hat is hosting an array of games and activities at Echo Dale Regional Park on Father’s Day – Sunday, June 18 from Noon – 4:00 PM.

Patrons are encouraged to bring their fishing gear and bait to the Echo Dale boating lake and have their fish measured by our Parks & Recreation staff. Participants between the ages of 16-65 years require a valid Fishing License in order to fish within the provincial regulations. Visit for info or to obtain your license.

As a special Father’s Day gift, a “June is Parks & Recreation Month” photographer will be stationed at the Echo Dale Boat Hut to take free family photos that will be posted to the City’s Parks and Recreation Facebook page @MedHatRec. Participants will be required to sign a photo release form.

Parks and Recreation staff will be on location to lead fun games and activities throughout the day.

The “June is Parks & Recreation Month” initiative (JPRM) provides Albertans with an opportunity to celebrate the important and varied benefits of recreation and parks to individuals, families, neighbourhoods, communities, and the quality of life in Alberta as a whole.

Throughout the month of June, the Parks and Recreation department is posting useful information to help you meaningfully participate in being active and healthy on Facebook and Twitter @MedHatRec.
