The Victoria Project
Activities for Aging Adults and Caregivers
Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine Hat and the Esplanade are proud to present The Victoria Project Monday, October 23 at 7:30 pm. This exceptional dance-theatre piece becomes a gathering of major players in the struggle for quality of life in sickness and/or aging. This unique blend of dance and theatre with its humour and compassion creates an innovative way of addressing old age, vulnerability, loss and death through a positive image.
The Victoria Project also involves activities for seniors and family or professional caregivers. Two workshops are being held prior to the theatre production on Saturday Oct 21.
10:00am – ‘Improving Communication: Workshop for Caregiver.’ This workshop gives participants the tools to better master the messages we send and receive, beyond words. Great workshop designed for family or professional caregivers. Workshop facilitated by: Dulcinea Langfelder & Anne Sabourin.
1:30pm – ‘Movement for Seniors’ Workshop. Reconnect with your body at any age. ‘User friendly’ movement to take back your body, to bring energy, pleasure, and self-assurance in a welcoming atmosphere making everything else a bit easier. This workshop is designed for independent seniors and seniors who are less self-sufficient.
Aging Adults and Caregiver Resources will be displayed in the lobby of the Esplanade during The Victoria Project starting at 6:30 pm.
Tickets for the Victoria Project can be purchased on Tixx.ca at a cost of $10. To register for the workshops call 403-529-8307. Space is limited. Funded by Medicine Hat FCSS.
