New Annual Mayoral Tradition Starts This Saturday

Event replaces Mayor’s New Year’s Day Levee

Post Date:08/08/2018 3:22 PM
Medicine Hat – Mayor Ted Clugston is starting a new tradition in 2018, one that will provide an opportunity for Medicine Hat residents and families to interact with him and celebrate our community together. It’s called Saturday in the Park and will be held on August 11 from 2-4 p.m., at Police Point Park east beach area.

“Police Point Park is one of my favorite places in this beautiful city and I look forward to spending a few hours there with residents and their families,” says Mayor Clugston.  “It will be a nice, relaxed afternoon with no real formal agenda except I hope people will join me for a short walk around the area at 3 p.m.”

The event has replaced the Mayor’s New Year’s Day Levee, traditionally held at City Hall on Jan. 1.  Summer favorites lemonade and watermelon will be served, residents are asked to please go green in our park space and bring their own refillable cups.  A fun scavenger hunt has been developed to highlight some of the interesting things you can find in the park.

There will be limited parking available so consider walking, cycling or boating to the park.
