Work Underway to Upgrade Parkade Roof Membrane
Medicine Hat – Upgrades to the parkade roof at City Hall are currently underway.
Fencing has been placed on the plaza around the clock tower and fountain in front of the main entrance to City Hall.
The plaza area acts as the roof of the parkade and the membrane which lies beneath the plaza has reached the end of its life expectancy. Replacement of the membrane will improve drainage while ensuring the integrity of the parkade and should last approximately 30 years.
The wheelchair ramp located on the plaza will not be accessible during the project and anyone requiring barrier-free access to City Hall will be directed to use the entrance on 1st Street SE.
The west sidewalk of Finlay Bridge will also remain closed to pedestrians for the entirety of the project.
Pedestrians and motorists are asked to obey all signage in the area.
The project is expected to be completed by August 30, 2019.
The City of Medicine Hat thanks the public for their patience and understanding while the project is completed.
