Detours in Effect During Stampede Parade on July 25

Medicine Hat – The Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede Parade will take place Thursday, July 25, 2019, at 9:00 am. Several road closures will be in place to accommodate the increase in pedestrian traffic and parade floats.

Beginning at 7:30 am, there will be no “on street parking” at the following locations:

  • 800 – 900 block of Second Street SE
  • 800 block of Third Street SE
  • Allowance Avenue SE
  • Woodman Avenue SE

Major roadways, including the Finlay Bridge, Maple Avenue Bridge and Maple Avenue between First Street SE and Third Street SE, will be closed for the duration of the parade, starting at 8:30 a.m.

Medicine Hat Transit will operate fully during the Stampede Parade with some minor route adjustments. Buses will be allowed on the parade route until 8:50 a.m.

  • Route 20 Flats – A smaller bus will be operating on this route and will take a detoured route to the Downtown Transit Terminal.
  • Route 10 NWCH & Route 11 NECH – Routes will be unable to drop passengers off at the Downtown Transit Terminal. Transit will be providing a shuttle service from the Shell Station in Crescent Heights to the terminal.

City Hall will be closed to the public for the duration of the parade.

Motorists are reminded to obey all posted signs and to take extra caution while driving downtown due to increased pedestrian traffic.
