Day Camps filling up fast

Post Date:07/25/2019 10:53 AM

Medicine Hat – Summer Camps at the Family Leisure Centre are in full swing and space is still available for registration.

Camps are split into three age groups: 4-5 years (Kinder Kamp), 6-8 years, and 9-12 years, and there are different themes each week.

Themes for the remaining weeks include:

  • July 29 - August 2: Big Screen Action – activities are inspired by games from blockbuster movies (ex. Quidditch from Harry Potter)
  • August 6 - 9: Challenge Week – Survivor-themed games, Fear Factor inspired challenges, and an Amazing Race
  • August 12 - 16: Alphabet Camp – our most popular camp where activities are selected for every letter of the alphabet
  • August 19 - 23: Sports Mania – a camp for the sports lover
  • August 26 - 30: Best of the Best – the most popular activities from the summer (judged by comments on our camp evaluations) packed into one week

“Our camp leaders are certified in Fundamental Movement Skills from the National Coaching Certification Program, as well as High Five®, a quality assurance standard in Canada specific to sport and recreation,” says Camp Coordinator Rebecca Hirsch. “They also receive Physical Literacy training through the PLAY Canada model. So you can be sure your children are getting expert care and training through a fun-filled summer experience.”
