Residents Invited to Join Riverbank Cleanup Aug 24 10-Noon
Sign up and come to Strathcona Island Park August 24, 10 am to Noon
Medicine Hat – On Saturday August 24 the City is teaming up with Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup to pick up litter along the South Saskatchewan River shoreline at Strathcona Island Park. Residents are invited to register to help out starting at 10 am.
“The South Saskatchewan River provides us with water, recreation, habitat for wildlife and is a beautiful and scenic river that flows through Medicine Hat,” says Jass Baidwan, Environmental Sustainability Officer with the City’s HAT Smart program. “We hope that by tackling a small stretch of shoreline within the City, we will raise awareness that litter, and especially plastic litter, does not belong on the shoreline or in the water. Please take it with you and dispose of it properly.”

This will be a fun, informal event and we hope people will take some time to come out for a few hours.”
