Post Date:10/31/2019 10:00 AM

Medicine Hat – The World Under-17 Hockey Challenge will take over the City of Medicine Hat and Swift Current from November 2-9. To celebrate the best young hockey talent in the world, the City of Medicine Hat has declared Monday, November 4, as Jersey Day.

A motion was first introduced by Councillor Brian Varga at the October 21 Council meeting, in honour of the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, co-hosted by Medicine Hat and Swift Current.

The event features eight teams from six countries and is expected to attract visitors from around the world.

“We welcome these players, their families and hockey fans alike to our community with open arms,” said Councillor Brian Varga.

“Medicine Hat has an incredible hockey community,” said Mayor Ted Clugston. “We want to see everyone showing their support for these players, these teams and for the love of the game.”

Wear your favourite hockey jersey on Monday, November 4, to show your support for the players on and off the ice.
