Economic Recovery Team Assembled
Medicine Hat –The City of Medicine Hat continues to work with businesses who are experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19.
Invest Medicine Hat and Invest Southeast Alberta (ISA) came together in 2018 to support businesses with the BREWD (Business Retention, Expansion and Workforce Development) initiative, engaging close to 500 businesses. The partnership is continuing to advance that effort, and in addition have assembled an Economic Recovery Team to aid local and regional businesses.
A new economic recovery page can be found on the City’s website, outlining available business and financial reports for owners, as well as employee supports.
“In addition to the pandemic, we are also experiencing an infodemic. During this stressful time, businesses need up-to-date, straight-forward information,” said Sandra Blyth, Director of Economic Development of Invest Medicine Hat and partner of Invest Southeast Alberta “This site provides direction in a time when we’re surrounded by unknowns.”
Other support efforts will be identified and initiated in the coming weeks. The economic recovery page will grow and evolve as new information is announced.
