Playground Equipment Removal Taking Place at Holt Crescent NE, Riley Court NW

Post Date:05/13/2020 11:00 AM

Medicine Hat - Please be advised that a recent hazard assessment on playground equipment located in the parks on Holt Crescent NE and Riley Court NW has found some safety concerns. Therefore the Parks and Recreation Department will be removing the merry-go-round in Holt Cres. NE and the monkey bars in Riley Court NW.

Work is anticipated to begin the week of May 18, 2020.

The possible replacement of any equipment will be done at a later date, and will be in accordance with the Playground Management Plan. This helps guide the City in the planning, maintenance and investment of existing and future playgrounds and equipment, and will help to determine the best use of these spaces.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, necessary construction, infrastructure renewal and repair work will continue throughout the city. Residents are reminded to allow crews space to work safely, and to adhere to physical distancing standards by staying at least two metres away from City workers.
