Strathcona Pool Reopening July 10
Medicine Hat - In line with the City’s reopening strategy, the Strathcona Pool will reopen to the community on Friday, July 10.
Visitors must register in advance for swim times. Information on how to register can be found on the City website.
The Stay Safe Pass is accepted at this location. For more information and to purchase a pass, click here.
“New protocols have been put in place following guidance from the Government of Alberta,” said James Will, General Manager of Parks and Recreation. “We are excited to be able to open another facility for the community to be able to enjoy this summer.”
Change rooms and washrooms will be open and staff will help to ensure physical distancing measures are followed in and out of the pool. These areas will be cleaned and maintained on a strict schedule.
“It’s important to remember we need to take appropriate precautions to help prevent the spread of the virus,” said Will. “Stay home if you’re sick or not feeling well.”
Hill Pool will not reopen for July 10 as tentatively scheduled originally. The City is currently reviewing the ability to reopen for the 2020 season, continuing to revise current mitigation practices that are in place at open facilities.
Heights Pool will remain closed for the 2020 season.
Staff continue to review operational guidelines in order to safely reopen Crestwood Recreation Centre to the community and are reviewing a reopening date in the fall.
