Fair Entry
The Fair Entry program helps low-income families and individuals afford popular city programs.
Eligible users have access to:
2023 Fair Entry relief credit |
An additional $1,200 credit per household will be provided to eligible Fair Entry customers. This relief will be applied through your utility account as a $50 credit in January, February, March and July, and a $200 credit in August, September, October, November and December 2023. This will occur automatically for all eligible customers on their utility statement and by cheque for eligible condo owners. Based on the timing of your application, your credits may be retroactively applied on your statement. Recreation user fee assistance |
Save 75%, up to $200 annually per person, for regular-priced recreation programs and admissions at Big Marble Go Centre, Crestwood Recreation Centre and our outdoor pools. |
Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre education programs |
Save 75%, up to $200 annually per person, for reduced rates on educational programs directly provided by staff of the Esplanade. |
Medicine Hat Transit discount |
Save 75% on monthly transit passes, to an annual maximum of $630 per person. Fair Entry access to Transit service will begin on February 1, 2023 and the February transit pass for Fair Entry will be available in January. |

You can apply to Fair Entry with eight different proofs of income. Please submit a copy of one of the following documents with your application:
A copy of the document must accompany your application for each member of your household 18 years or older. If you are submitting documents on behalf of another person over the age of 18, you must complete an authorization consent form. A total household income must be less than the Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) set by Statistics Canada, and is updated annually. |
