The road has degraded over years and some sections of the road will need to be completely rebuilt while other sections will be milled and inlaid with deep repairs. The traffic detour plans will vary depending on the location of the active construction zone. Work is currently taking place in Stage 4 around the intersection at Ross Glen Drive SE.

Carry Drive SE will be closed to through traffic from Carter Crescent SE up to Cameron Road SE. Traffic will detour on Southview Drive SE, Cameron Road SE and Ross Glen Way SE to navigate around the active construction area.

Changes to the traffic detour plans will be required as the project progresses.

The $3.2 million project will:

  • remove and replace the pavement surface
  • upgrade the curve and intersections at Southview Drive SE and Ross Glen Drive SE
  • remove and replace damaged concrete surfaces, where necessary
  • add and replace damaged storm water infrastructure

Local residents will receive direct communication via hand-delivered notices or property visits from the City or contractor if any services like water, sewer, or power will be disrupted, or if access to personal property is restricted.

Updates about the project will be shared through the City's social media accounts, by pubic advisory and on this webpage.

Detour and traffic signs will be posted in the area where crews are working. Please use caution around any equipment in the area.

Pedestrian access will be maintained through the duration of the project. Perimeter fencing will be placed along the active construction zone with deep excavation.
