Candlelight Vigil to be held at Canalta Centre in Honour of Humboldt Broncos
Medicine Hat, AB – This evening, Sunday, April 8, at 7 p.m., a candlelight vigil ceremony will be held at centre ice at the Canalta Centre in Medicine Hat to honour the victims, families, friends, and fans of the Humboldt Broncos.
On Friday, April 6, fifteen people were killed when a bus carrying the Humboldt Broncos junior hockey team collided with a truck in Saskatchewan in one of the worst disasters to strike Canada's sporting community.
“Tonight, we will come together as a community to show our support and love for the lives lost and those that have been impacted by this tragic event“, says Tammy Sweeney, general manager of the Canalta Centre. “The hockey community is family and we stick together.”
Doors for the Canalta Centre will be open at 6:30 p.m. and the ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. at centre ice. Refreshments will be available.
All donations accepted this evening will be sent to the Go Fund Me account setup in honour of the Humboldt Broncos.
