Cannabis Survey: Policies for Medicine Hat

Medicine Hat – The Government of Canada has stated that non-medical cannabis will become legal Summer 2018.



Federal and provincial levels of government will be responsible for the majority of rules around non-medical cannabis including how it is produced, distributed, advertised and sold.



The City of Medicine Hat have the ability to develop local policies and regulations including where retail stores may be located, hours of operation and public consumption rules.



The City is seeking the community’s input on how non-medical cannabis policies should be established with a survey on the website. Closing date for the cannabis survey is March 14. 2018.



Participation in the survey is voluntary and answers will be confidential. You will not be asked for any personal information. Responses will not be identified by individual. All responses will be compiled together and analyzed as a group.



A report of the results will be complied and presented to City Council this spring for information prior to establishing any local bylaws.
