City announces spring, summer registration date

Medicine Hat – Registration for spring and summer recreation and leisure programming at city facilities, including Big Marble Go Centre, Crestwood Recreation Centre and outdoor pools, opens on Tuesday, March 22, at 7:00 a.m.

“As we transition out of COVID, we want to begin increasing our programs and what we can offer in hopes of seeing more people at our facilities. Crestwood is now up and running and we’ll be looking to extend our hours in the coming months,” said Scott Richter, interim Recreation Manager and Manager of Business and Innovation. “Our community is eager to get active and so we’re encouraging residents, visitors, families and friends to check out what we have to offer.”

Several programs are opening in this registration period, including summer camps and summer swim lessons. Group cycling and other studio-based classes will return, as well as the Excel Cancer and ACE Maintenance programs. We have also hired an additional three qualified Fitness Leaders who are available to help you meet your personal training goals.

“We have numerous options available when it comes to getting active, including our drop-in programs in the gymnasium and fieldhouse,” Richter added. “From basketball to ultimate frisbee, everyone will be able to find something they enjoy and that will keep them moving. And our staff welcome new ideas on sports, games and ways to play.”

As previously announced, two additional Swim Kids 1 classes have been added to the spring schedule, open to children who were on the waitlist.

“We ask that parents and guardians take a look ahead of time to see what dates and times are available, prior to registration opening,” said Richter. “Be sure to have your registration code ready and add yourself to a waitlist so you’re notified in the event space becomes available.”

Programs are now available for viewing on the City website. Current group fitness classes will continue to run until April 30.
