City seeking applicants for advisory bodies
Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine Hat is looking to fill vacancies for a variety of decision-making and advisory roles across its boards, commissions and working groups. These roles offer Medicine Hat residents a unique opportunity to contribute to their community by advising on key policy matters and decisions.
Available vacancies:
All terms are for three years unless otherwise indicated at the time of appointment.
• Assessment Review Board: 2 positions
• Combative Sports Commission: 2 positions
• Community Vibrancy Advisory Board: 1 position
• Municipal Planning Commission: 2 positions
• Police Commission: 2 positions
• Public Library Board: 3 positions
• Subdivision & Development Appeal Board: 1 position
• Heritage Resources Working Group: 8 positions
• Working Group for Accessibility & Inclusion: Up to 6
Eligibility:
• Must be a resident of Medicine Hat (Public Library Board is an exception)
• Must be willing to undergo records check for Police Commission applicants
• Any additional eligibility requirements for specific advisory bodies are detailed in the Applicant Handbook available on the City website.
How to apply:
1. Go to the City website’s Application Portal.
2. Fill out the application form and attach a resume.
3. You may also submit an optional video (no more than 90 seconds long).
4. Submit your application by 4:30 p.m. on October 30, 2024.
If you are unable to apply online, interested applicants can either download the handbook (which includes the application form)from the City website or pick up at the City Clerk’s department, 3rd Floor, City Hall. Completed hard-copy packages can be dropped off at the City Clerk’s Office.
