Clugston Planning New Annual Mayoral Tradition
Medicine Hat – Mayor Ted Clugston is looking to start a new tradition in 2018, one that will provide an opportunity for Medicine Hat residents and families to interact with him and celebrate our community together.
“I’m fortunate to be invited to events and celebrations around the community all year long, whether it be ribbon cuttings, charity fundraisers, conferences or cultural and sporting events,” said Mayor Clugston. “I want to create a new annual event to invite residents to celebrate our community with me.”
The event, which is still being planned, will replace the Mayor’s New Year’s Day Levee. The levee was regularly held at City Hall on Jan. 1.
“The holiday season is a busy time of year and for most families represents a time to be together, including travelling or hosting relatives from out of town,” said Mayor Ted Clugston. “And even in Medicine Hat, sometimes weather can prove challenging for venturing out on New Year’s Day.”
The Mayor hopes to share more details about the new event at the annual State of the City Address hosted by the Medicine Hat & District Chamber of Commerce and the Medicine Hat Kiwanis Club on Jan. 30, 2018.
