Co-op Place hosting watch party for Memorial Cup championship game
Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine Hat is pleased to announce it’s hosting a Memorial Cup Watch Party at Co-op Place for the championship game on Sunday, June 1 at 5 p.m. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. for the event.
The Medicine Hat Tigers defeated the London Knights last night to secure their spot in the finals. The Tigers now have a chance to hoist the Memorial Cup for the first time in 37 years.
“With the excitement the Tigers have provided our community here at Co-op Place this season, it’s only fitting to have fans in the stands one last time cheering on our team – now that is a Sunday Funday,“ said Trampas Brown, Manager of Guest Experience and Operations with the City of Medicine Hat. “This Tigers’ postseason push has brought an indescribable energy and sense of camaraderie to the community. We can’t wait to enjoy this Memorial Cup championship game experience with all of you, Tigers fans!”
The event will be free, but attendees will be required to book their free ticket to secure a seat. Tickets will go live at 12 p.m. MT today on Tixx.ca.
The watch party will offer concession options for fans, though with a limited menu compared to standard playoff games. The family-friendly, fun-filled event will also have kids’ activities on the concourse. A photo booth and yard games will be located behind Sections L and M, and face painting and jersey design will be located behind Section H. There will also be chalk drawing on the concrete floor now that the ice has been removed.
Please note, there will be no Co-op Place Express service to the watch party – attendees are encouraged to carpool in the event parking availability becomes limited. Fans are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item donation for the Root Cellar.
Whether watching at Co-op Place, at home, or an amazing local business around the community, the City of Medicine Hat encourages Tigers’ fans to cheer loud and wear orange and black this Sunday.
