Council Highlights May 6 2019
Eric Solberg, Councillor of Town of Redcliff, and Dan Hamilton, Councillor of Cypress County, provided a presentation on behalf of the Cypress View Foundation, a non-profit organization providing affordable senior housing and corresponding services for lowincome seniors. Mr. Solberg and Mr. Hamilton provided a brief history of the Cypress View Foundation, and shared projections regarding the needs of seniors in the future.
City Council received for information through Administrative Committee the tender recommendation for Coiling Tubing Services GP19-44 awarded to the best evaluated bid meeting specification: T-Rock CT Services Ltd. in the amount of $840,000.00 and Maple Creek Endless Tubing Services Ltd. in the amount of $560,000.
Through Administrative Committee, City Council received for information the tender recommendation EU19-31 First Street SW Rehabilitation Project awarded to the best evaluated bid meeting specification: Hamm Construction Ltd. in the amount of $4,334,814.30.
City Council through Administrative Committee received for information tender recommendation FP19-53 Kinplex Arena Slab and Dasher Board Replacement awarded to the best evaluated bid meeting specification: WAHL Construction in the amount of $1,157,500.00.
City Council received for information the minutes of the Heritage Resources Committee Meeting of April 9, 2019.
Under new business, City Council appointed Wesley Skakun a temporary License Inspector, and Henry Claussen a License Inspector effective May 6, 2019.
Council approved a motion that Medicine Hat City Council not attend the Federation of Canadian Municipalities 2019 Annual Conference in Quebec City this year in protest of the posture of Quebec against the oil and gas industry and pipelines.
