Council seeks nominations for Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal

Medicine Hat – The Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal has been created to mark the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty’s accession to the throne as Queen of Canada. To celebrate this historic event, the medal recognizes outstanding service from Albertans who have dedicated themselves to family, community, and country, just as Her Majesty did.

The Mayor and Council will be submitting the recommendation that one individual in Medicine Hat receive the Platinum Jubilee Medal and will be accepting nominations from the community to inform this decision.

“Medicine Hat is a city filled with people who meet the criteria for the Platinum Jubilee Medal,” said Mayor Linnsie Clark. “With the recent passing of Her Majesty, these awards have taken on a special significance. We look forward to recognizing a very deserving individual on a provincial stage and celebrating their contributions to our community, and our province as a whole.”

The City of Medicine Hat has set up an online form where community nominations can be submitted to council.
