Deadline Approaching for Community Spirit Award Nominations
Medicine Hat – The nomination deadline is quickly approaching for the 2019 Community Spirit Awards.
The awards were previously known as the Civic Recognition Awards and have been honouring individuals in Medicine Hat for the last 40 years.
Residents can send their nomination forms recognizing individuals for the 2019 Community Spirit Awards in the following categories: Arts/Culture, Sports/Recreation, Compassion, Environment, Community Inclusion, Volunteerism and Civic Pride.
Nominations are also being accepted for the Awards of Excellence and the ongoing Awards of Achievement category.
Nominees must agree to the nomination. They may be residents of Medicine Hat, Redcliff or Cypress County, however, the extraordinary contribution(s) must benefit residents of Medicine Hat. The nominator must be a resident of Medicine Hat.
Since 1979, more than 130 Civic Awards have been handed out, recognizing dedicated community contributors and their enhancements of the quality of life in Medicine Hat. To celebrate the 40th Anniversary, past recipients have been invited to attend the gala event, taking place on October 3, 2019 at the Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre.
The deadline to submit a nomination form is Friday, May 31, 2019 at 4:30 p.m.
