Division Avenue re-opening as road construction wraps up

Medicine Hat – Division Avenue South is set to reopen to motorists by end-of-day on Tuesday, June 24 as road construction wraps up on the Division Avenue South Rehabilitation project. The project began in 2024, with a portion of work outstanding for the 2025 construction season.

No further traffic restrictions or road closures are required as part of the remainder of work on this project.

Minor cleanup and work adjacent to Division Avenue will conclude in the following days. The final stage of work remaining in the project includes the continuation of multi-use trail rehabilitation down Old Cemetery Road Hill. This rehabilitation work will pick up where work concluded in 2024, and will connect to the intersection at College Avenue SE.

Trail rehabilitation work is set to tentatively begin the week of July 7 to not disrupt Canada Day festivities in Kin Coulee and at the Inland Skate Park. Trail rehabilitation is set to be complete by late July 2025.

The City of Medicine Hat would like to thank residents and motorists for their patience and understanding during this vital infrastructure renewal project.
