Division Avenue South Rehabilitation

Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine Hat will begin road construction on Division Avenue South, stretching from the top of Cemetery Hill to the 3rd Street intersection, starting the week of May 20, 2024. Traffic management plans, including detours, will be implemented as construction activities commence. Project completion is targeted for Fall 2024 (weather pending).

This project is a key component of the City's transportation infrastructure renewal strategy and includes:

• replacement of the pavement surface,
• construction of a 3-meter-wide multi-use pathway,
• replacement of damaged concrete surfaces as required; and
• installation, upgrade, and repair of selected water mains, sanitary sewers, and stormwater infrastructure.

Traffic flow will be managed through lane narrowing and flagging operations initially, with changes to detours as construction progresses.
