Education on utility bills offered at virtual town hall meeting

Medicine Hat – In an effort to further support understanding of the detailed information on utility bills, the City of Medicine Hat will host a virtual town hall meeting for the public to attend remotely on Wednesday, March 16 at noon.

"We are sensitive to our residents’ desire to better understand the complex topic of utility billing,” said Dennis Egert, Managing Director of Corporate Services. “We’ve responded by sharing information on social media and launching the Understanding Your Utility Bill webpage, and this is another tool we’d like to try in order to reach our residents in a meaningful way.”

A panel of City experts comprised of staff from Customer Care and Billing, Energy Marketing and Municipal Business Support will be on hand to provide information and answer questions during the one-hour event.

Interested parties are encouraged to submit questions in advance on the City’s Shape Your City engagement portal to ensure the panel can address the topics accurately.

During the live virtual event, participants may also submit questions in writing, anonymously if desired, and a moderator will bring them forward as time permits.

The session will be recorded and presented on the City’s website and Shape Your City page after Wednesday.
