Esplanade releases revamped Collections Online Catalogue for the Community
Medicine Hat – The Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre is proud to announce the update of their online tool to search the collections of artefacts, archival records, and artworks. The ‘Collections Online Catalogue’ can now be found at collections.esplanade.ca.
The updated version of the portal offers a range of new features and improvements, designed to make it easier for users to access and collect information. The most notable changes include a revamped user interface, with a new design that is both more modern and intuitive. The improved search functionality allows the public to quickly locate what they need, as well as explore parts of the collection they newly discover.
"We are constantly looking for ways to improve the user experience when accessing our collections," says Archivist, Philip Pype. "With this update, we've taken feedback from the community, staff and volunteers and implemented a range of new features and improvements that we believe will make working with collections easier and more interactive than ever before."
In addition, Archives Reference Services is by the galleries of the Esplanade, and open Tuesday to Friday 12 to 5 p.m. Staff can assist in using the Collections Online Catalogue as well as provide access to many of the physical archival records. The public are also welcome to arrange a meeting with a specialist to view artefacts or artworks.
