The pandemic forced businesses to think outside the box to in order to serve their clients.

Only having just opened its doors four months prior, fitness franchise, F45, reacted quickly to ensure their members had an option to remain physically active while stuck at home.

“Personal wellness is critical to the overall health of a community and in times like these, people need mental and physical strength,” says Kayla McKay, studio manager, F45 South Medicine Hat. “Thankfully, our team came together quickly and remained focused on our mission to give members the best 45 minutes of their day.”

F45 refers to the concept of functional team training for 45 minutes across stations where members do cardiovascular, strength and interval training such as cycling, battle ropes, rowing, and weights-based exercises.

After the first lockdown in June, F45 reopened with appropriate safety measures in place and introduced a “pay what you can” concept to support those financially impacted by the pandemic, making F45 accessible to all.

“I’m proud to be part of an organization that adapted its fees and services to the needs of the community,” says McKay. “One of the most valuable features of F45 is the team of qualified personal trainers that coach, motivate, and guide our members for a fraction of the cost.”

During the second lockdown, F45 turned to its online platform offering pre-recorded classes, live workouts, dryland session for younger athletes and teams, and doorstep equipment delivery.

F45 South Medicine Hat is located 1751 Strachan Road SE and can be found online at www.F45training.ca.
