Hill Pool renewal begins October 1

Medicine Hat – Construction will begin at Medicine Hat’s Hill Pool Oct. 1 to renew infrastructure that has reached the end of its useful life.

Once Hill Pool is drained after the last swim on Sunday, Sept. 29, crews will replace some of the water circulation parts, repair cracks, fencing and gates, as well as paint and improve lighting. When patrons return to swim next summer, they will see two new sun shade structures to improve the experience on deck and in the pool.

During construction, passersby will witness concrete saws, sandblasting equipment, lifts and cranes on site.

With much of the circulation system underground, weather is a significant factor when working with concrete. Work will continue this fall as long as weather permits, and then resume in spring 2025.
