In-person surveys continue destination visioning project

Medicine Hat – On Tuesday, Nov. 8, consultants hired by the Parks and Recreation Department will begin the second phase of the destination parks visioning project. This includes conducting in-person engagement at Kin Coulee Park, Police Point Park, and Strathcona Island Park, collecting feedback from residents and visitors to shape the future vision for each park.

This survey opportunity includes a mapping activity which logs amenities residents and park visitors believe should be considered in the future development of each park. The surveys will also collect comments on areas of concern which are shared.

This engagement stems from the completed Parks and Recreation Master Plan and action items which are identified within the plan.

Staff wearing blue reflective vests will be in Strathcona Island Park on Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Police Point Park on Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and in Kin Coulee Park on Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Residents may also see staff in the surrounding neighbourhoods near these parks to further engage the public and gather meaningful feedback.  All input received will shape the vision for these three parks.
