Kinsmen Club sponsors free public swimming at outdoor pools this summer

Medicine Hat – To celebrate the summer, the Kinsmen Club of Medicine Hat is once again sponsoring free public swimming at Hill Pool and Strathcona Pool for the summer.

“We are excited to continue our partnership with the Kinsmen Club for another summer filled with enjoyable activities for all," says Michael Ractliffe, Superintendent of Recreation, City of Medicine Hat. "Our collaboration with the Kinsmen Club dates back to 1984 who consistently bring a variety of free family-oriented events to our community."

The free swim applies to all public swim times during May, June, July, and August. This does not include lane swimming or swimming lessons. Public Swim times for Hill Pool and Strathcona Pool are now available online for May and June.

“The Kinsmen Club of Medicine Hat is once again excited to sponsor FREE Family Swimming in Medicine Hat at all outdoor pools this summer, a tradition coming up on 40 years! says Steve Pudwell, Kin Canada National president and past president of Kinsmen Club Medicine Hat. “The Kinsmen Club of Medicine Hat is proud of our legacy of “Serving our Community’s Greatest Need” in our community, and we believe that providing FREE swimming within Medicine Hat throughout the summer does just that.”

“We understand the popularity of our outdoor pools, especially on a hot summer day,” Ractliffe added. “With that in mind, we do ask for some patience as availability will be dependent on capacity at each pool. This will help staff ensure the safety of all patrons.”

Please note that all children under eight (8) years of age must be accompanied in the water and within arm’s reach by a person 16 years of age or older.
