Litter Blitz campaign returns for Earth Day 2025

Medicine Hat The City of Medicine Hat’s Litter Blitz campaign is back for 2025. The event, held in recognition of Earth Day, runs from Saturday, April 26 to Saturday, May 3. The annual campaign not only aims to enhance the city’s natural beauty but also empowers residents to be environmental stewards.

Residents are encouraged to come kick off the Litter Blitz campaign at the Interpretive Program’s Earth Day Bash in Police Point Park on Saturday, April 26. Pick up Litter Blitz supplies and enjoy family-friendly Earth Day activities between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Litter Blitz participants can enter for a chance to win a prize by sharing a photo of themselves, their family, friends, or organization picking up litter around the community, and tag the City on Facebook or Instagram. Available prizes include the following:

  • One-night stay in a comfort cabin at Gas City Campground
  • One-night stay in a campsite at Gas City Campground
  • Family day passes to Big Marble Go Centre

Litter Blitz supplies can also be picked up weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation office at 88 Kipling Street all season, as well as Police Point Park Interpretive Centre and Big Marble Go Centre during Litter Blitz week.

This year’s Litter Blitz campaign concludes with a Thank You BBQ. Join the City Saturday, May 3 from 12 to 2 p.m. at Police Point Park for a fun BBQ to recognize the hard work and community contributions of this year’s participants.
