Medicine Hat Economic Development to host Workforce Economics Workshop

Medicine Hat – Medicine Hat Economic Development will host a full-day Workforce Economics Workshop on Wednesday, March 26, designed to help local employers find, hire, and keep quality employees.

“We’re hearing from many businesses in the community that they are struggling to recruit and retain skilled employees, and we know that many small businesses don’t have a dedicated human resources department to manage these important tasks,” said Selena McLean-Moore, Director of Medicine Hat Economic Development. “This event is designed to help these businesses advance their skills as it related to recruiting, retaining and managing employees successfully.”

The full-day event will be held at Medicine Hat College. It includes a panel discussion, question-and-answer period with an employment agency, a workshop session, and presentations from Dr. Lionel Laroche, co-founder of a global consulting firm specializing in recruiting, retaining and managing culturally diverse employees; and Eddie Lemoine, a TEC Canada leadership coach, executive trainer and author.

“We are very excited to have booked such high-quality presenters for this event and have them share their expertise with our local audience,” added McLean-Moore. “We hope this day will help local employers discover how fostering an inclusive and welcoming work environment can enhance employee engagement and long-term success.”

This event will also feature an opportunity for employers to connect with local employment organizations that offer valuable workforce resources and support.

The Workforce Economics Workshop is made possible with the support of our partners from Medicine Hat Local Immigration Partnership and Community Futures Entre-Corp. Funding for this event is made possible through the Province of Alberta, working in partnership with the Government of Canada to provide employment support programs and services.

Tickets to the event are $42 (including breakfast and lunch) and are available for purchase on the event webpage.
