MyRide replaces DoubleMap for transit route tracking
Medicine Hat – Medicine Hat Transit is transitioning to a new route tracking system. MyRide will replace the DoubleMap application effective Tuesday, Nov. 1.
MyRide will function similar to DoubleMap, riders can input their location and instantly see the arrival time of the next scheduled bus. The location of the bus on its route will be visible on a map using a computer, smartphone, or tablet. The website will also provide additional information, including disruptions to service when applicable.
“This is an exciting fall season for our transit system, with a number of changes to make riding the bus more convenient and accessible for Hatters,” said Gordon Dykstra, Acting Manager of Medicine Hat Transit. “The new electronic fare system, MHT Go! is launching and our new live tracker will provide better information and the foundation for additional trip planning tools in the future.”
MyRide can be accessed on the web by visiting myride.mhtransit.ca. If you have a smartphone, Dykstra encourages you to save the link to your home screen, “if you do that, you can access information instantly the next time you’re waiting at your regular bus stop,” he says. “You won’t have to wonder if you missed the bus or get caught standing outside for too long on a cold winter’s day.”
More information about the Medicine Hat Transit system can be found on the City website.
