The Avara Group has brought a new operation to their line of business this spring by expanding downtown with their seasonal Garden Centre.

“We want to bring beauty to both people’s homes and to the downtown core. People love walking through here and enjoying the garden with their local coffee from Station Coffee Co. and pastries from Redcliff Bakery,” says Kreggan Scharnatta, landscape designer and estimator. “We’ve received such positive feedback from the community and worked extremely hard to construct the garden space.”

The Avara Group operating in Southern Alberta consists of Commercial and Residential Landscaping, Commercial Property Care, Deck and Fencing, and now the Avara Garden Centre.

Scharnatta explains the Garden Centre allows Avara the opportunity to highlight some of their landscaping design work and products for both consumers and the public to view, enjoy, and take home. He goes on to say that the intention is to operate later in the season with a fall pumpkin patch and a potential winter wonderland.

Larson Laing, president of the Avara Group hopes the Garden Centre will be another draw to the downtown core and a space for businesses to collaborate.

Scharnatta continues, “Our team is also excited for the potential of Waterfront District which is going to bring an abundance of people to the core. We love that Avara can add additional beauty to our historic downtown. With the new, trendy businesses downtown opening up and the potential of the new waterfront development - we can’t wait to see what else is in store.”

Avara is very eager to also use the Garden Centre venue as a collaborative place for businesses to network and to introduce public events like yoga, potting classes, art nights and so much more.

“A lot of people have supported us since our Grand Opening on May 21st,” smiles Scharnatta. “We are thrilled the community thinks it’s a gorgeous space. Knowing our hard work and dedication towards supporting the revitalization of our downtown is appreciated, is really reassuring.”

The Avara Garden Centre is located 635 2nd St SE, Medicine Hat and can be found online at www.avaragardencentre.com
