Reservations open for 2024 camping season

Medicine Hat – Online reservations for the 2024 camping season at Gas City Campground (GCC) and Echo Dale Regional Park (EDRP) will open on Thursday, Feb. 1, at 7 a.m.

The camping season at EDRP will open on Friday, May 3 and Gas City Campground will have a slight delay due to planned improvements, beginning its season on Friday, May 31. Both campgrounds will be open until Thanksgiving weekend, closing on Monday, Oct. 14.

"We are excited for another camping season, although 2024 brings essential construction and irrigation upgrades at Gas City Campground," says Scott Richter, Manager of Business and Innovation at the City of Medicine Hat. "While we implement these crucial improvements at GCC, EDRP will be ready to greet campers beginning May 3.”

This year, GCC will undergo major construction, focusing on water service and irrigation system enhancements to elevate the future camping experience. A part of the campground will be closed during this upgrade, but the majority of the site will remain accessible and fully operational.

Gas City Campground is located off the Trans-Canada Highway and adjacent to WestVue Dog Park and features 98 sites, including two comfort cabins. The campground also connects to the city’s expansive Heritage Trail Network, which spans over 155 kilometers.

Echo Dale Campground is nestled along the South Saskatchewan River valley and offers 10 individual campsites. The area features amenities like a swimming area, volleyball courts, a historic farm with animals, and 8 kilometers of mountain biking trails.
