Road rehabilitation project coming for two blocks of Woodman Avenue SE
Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine Hat will begin a road rehabilitation on a two-block section of Woodman Avenue SE starting Monday, July 8. During this project, Woodman Avenue SE will be closed in two separate stages.
The first stage stretches from the intersection of Dominion Street SE up to and including the intersection of Queen Street SE. Once completed, crews will then move from Queen Street SE up to and including the intersection of Elm Street SE. Please view the attached map for reference.
During this project, the City will upgrade and install storm water infrastructure, replace road pavement, and replace the curb, gutter and other concrete surfaces as required. This project is a key component of the City's transportation infrastructure renewal strategy.
Weather permitting, this project is expected to be complete in September 2024.
Traffic management plans, including detours, will be in place as construction begins. Traffic detours may change as crews shift between project stages. Motorists are reminded to obey all posted signs, speed limits and detours for the safety of travellers and crews.
The City of Medicine Hat thanks residents for their patience and understanding during this rehabilitation project which ensures safe and reliable infrastructure for years to come.
