Routine water meter replacement program set to begin
Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine Hat’s Environmental Utilities department will begin a routine water meter replacement program in residential and commercial properties starting Monday, January 6, 2025. The city has been divided into alphabetical work zones. Work will start in Zone A, located in NW Crescent Heights.
Since water meters are located indoors, staff require access inside residential and commercial properties to accommodate water meter replacements.
Affected residents and business owners will be contacted by City of Medicine Hat staff to schedule an appointment. Or, as time and schedules permit, field operators may drop by the property. Operators will carry City of Medicine Hat photo identification, which they will present upon request.
Staff will advance to the next work zone once most meters have been replaced in the current zone. The timeline for this process is dependent on scheduling and the number of meters in a zone.
The current zone will be updated on the City’s website as work progresses.
