Spencer Street intersection at bottom of Dunmore Hill disrupted to repair gas infrastructure
Medicine Hat – Effective immediately, Tuesday, May 13, the intersection of Spencer Street SE and Dunmore Road SE (at the bottom of Dunmore Hill) is disrupted for an unplanned repair on gas infrastructure located within the intersection.
While the intersection remains open, traffic is restricted as follows:
- Northbound from Dunmore Road SE to Kingsway Avenue SE:
- No left turn onto westbound Spencer Street SE
- Through lane remains upon
- Right turn lane remains open
- Southbound from Kingsway Avenue SE to Dunmore Road SE:
- Left lane may only turn left onto eastbound Spencer Street SE, no through-traffic
- Right lane remains open and may go straight or turn right onto westbound Spencer Street
- Westbound on Spencer Street SE:
- Left turning lane closed
- Right lane remains open to through-traffic or left turns
- Eastbound on Spencer Street SE:
- Left lane remains open to through-traffic or left turns
- Right lane closed to through-traffic
- Right turning lane onto southbound Dunmore Road SE remains open
The work does not affect the use of Saratoga Trail and pedestrian access around the intersection is maintained.
Crews are repairing a gas pipeline which may release a slight gas odour but presents no public risk. Work should be complete Wednesday, May 14 with repaving and reopening expected Thursday, May 15.
Motorists are reminded to obey all posted construction signage and use caution around the work zone.
