Transit offers free rides on election day

Medicine Hat – Electors will be able to ride the bus to their designated voting station for free on election day, Monday, October 18.

“We want to ensure everyone has the ability to cast their vote in the Municipal Election”, said Angela Cruickshank, Returning Officer for the City of Medicine Hat. “Removing transportation barriers will help to ensure voters have access to the polls.”

Electors can check the location of their voting station on page one of their City utility bill, or use the online interactive map on the city website.

Special transit will also be free on election day, enabling any elector who requires assistance to vote. New special transit riders must pre-register by calling 403-502-8018 before 3:00 p.m. on October 15 to book your trip to the voting station. Regular Special Transit clients are asked to book through their current methods.

Please note that face masks are required to be worn while riding the bus. Medicine Hat Transit will offer face masks to passengers on a first come, first serve basis.
