TREX Southeast issues open call for artists
Medicine Hat – The Alberta Foundation for the Arts’ Travelling Exhibition program in southeast Alberta (TREX Southeast) has put out an open call for exhibition proposals from artists based in the regional program area.
The City of Medicine Hat-administered TREX Southeast program strives to curate exhibitions that highlight the diverse stories, themes, artistic mediums and voices in the region. Artists of all backgrounds and experience levels are invited to submit exhibition proposals.
"The TREX program plays an important role in the Albertan art community – every artist that exhibits with the program lives and works in the province,” said Sierra Zukowski, Program Manager and Curator with TREX Southeast. “There's a real focus on locality and community. We want to know more about you and your work, and in turn, amplify the artistic voices of artists from southeast Alberta.”
TREX Southeast exhibition applications require an artist biography, project proposal, and examples of past work or work in progress. More information on application details and the submission process are on the TREX website.
The deadline to apply is Friday, February 28, 2025.

About TREX
TREX Southeast is one of four regional TREX partners who manage this Alberta Foundation for the Arts program. For over 40 years, this provincial program has curated exhibitions and distributed them to communities across the province, with displays often occurring in non-traditional gallery spaces such as schools and libraries. The goal of the program is to make professionally curated exhibitions of Albertan artwork accessible for all to experience and enjoy, and to support the work of Albertan artists.
